Gerson Esau

Gerson Esau is 12yrs old. He is in 6th grade. His birthday is August 6th.
He lives in Panajachel with his father, Juan Alberto 39yrs old and his mother, Clemencia, 45yrs old. He is an only child. The father works as a gardeners assistant. He earns $26 US per week. The mother has health issues and finds it difficult to keep working. She used to wash clothes by hand in private houses but finds it difficult to be able to do heavy work now.
Gerson has excellent marks on his exams. He is an average 95% on all his tests. His family would like him to continue studying but they do not have the money to be able to keep him in school. Gerson would like to continue studying and become an accountant. Next year he will be going into Jnr. High and the family just does not have the money to be able to support him.
The family is renting a house. They pay $52US a month.
The house is made of cement block, the roof is tin sheeting and the floor is concrete.
They have one room and a small kitchen.
They do not have an onil stove. They cook over a small gas stove.
They do not have a water filter.
They have two beds made of wooden planks.They have mattresses.
They do not have closet. They keep their clothes on a shelf.
They have tables and chairs.
They have electricity connected and pay $14 US. per month.
They have water connected .
They often do not have enough money for food for the whole week, they often have to buy food on credit at the local store.
Gerson's father went to school until 3rd grade.
Gerson's mother graduated from 6th grade.
